Texas Attractions: Grapevine

The Grapevine historic Main Street district has been described as “Main Street USA,” “a happening place” and “quaint but with an upbeat feel.” It exudes a nostalgic days-gone-by feeling, with the residents displaying the friendliness that is so characteristic of the Texan persona. The downtown area is such an enjoyable place to visit that it attracts visitors from across the country.

If you’ve never been here, you’re missing out on the delights of this great town that include a host of unique shops, as well as attractions like the Grapevine Opry and historic Palace Theater. The area also has an array of nice eateries, and if you poll the locals, they’ll be happy to give you recommendations for their favorites.

A good time to plan a stay here is during May 17 through May 19, when the town will host Main Street Days, a festival that involves live entertainment, street dancing and a grilling competition, along with an Artisan’s Village and carnival.  The music will include country and rock, and the food will feature pizza in addition to other festival treats.
